Powers Irish Rye Whiskey is Ireland’s first ever 100% rye whiskey. Made from a 100% Irish Rye mash that perfectly balances the peppery taste of rye with the sweetness from seasoned American oak cask maturation, this new Powers expression offers real character. On the nose this whiskey opens with burnt orange, maraschino cherries, and toffee banana with rich warming notes of freshly baked rye bread. On the palate you can expect flavours of candied ginger, orange peel, clove spice and peppermint that develop into notes of brown sugar, sweet cereal – while the vanilla and charred oak influences work in balance with the rye spices.

Inspired by the old ancient Blackpitts area just behind the new Teeling Whiskey Distillery based in Newmarket in the old Liberties area of Dublin City, this area was synonymous with many industries and in particular malting houses. Blackpitts was traditionally home to some of the largest barley malting houses in Ireland. By using smoke from peat to dry the barley during the malting process, the resulting peated malt produces a distinctive smoky taste profile which is the signature of a Peated Single Malt.

However, what makes Teeling Blackpitts so unique is the triple distillation process, which reduces some of the medicinal character you would get from a traditional Scottish Peated Single Malt and allows the more barbeque smoke characteristic to shine. This is then combined with signature Teeling innovative cask maturation using both ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes white wine casks, which is bottled at 46% with no chill filtration to produce a truly different and unique expression of Teeling and Irish Whiskey. The inspiration for the use of these casks came from a previous bottling of Teeling 24-Year-Old Single Malt which was honoured as the “World’s Best Single Malt” in 2019 at the World Whiskies Awards.

Teeling Single Pot Still is crafted using a recipe of 50% unmalted and 50% malted barley and is then matured in a combination of virgin oak, ex-wine and ex-bourbon barrels. You will get an abundance of fresh orchard fruits with a subtle hint of peppery spice on the finish.

Inspired by the tales of the mythical Silkie seals of the Donegal coast, The Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskey a balanced blend of double and triple distilled single malts, soft grain whiskey and a hint of peated malt. It is bottled by hand at 46% ABV and is non chill-filtered for a distinctively rich character. Although higher in ABV, The Legendary Silkie is exceptionally smooth with crisp green apple to the fore, ripe red fruits, gentle smoke and an oaky sweetness which gives way to a long lingering finish of gently warming spice.
